The new birth control pill has greatly reduced my monthly mood swings, but apparently today some combination of lack of sleep, PMS, head and chest cold, not eating properly for the part of the day where I did the most physical labour, and coming home from getting all sorts of chores done to find ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) skjie still blissfully sleeping at 3:30pm has put me in a viciously cranky mood. I've also been stressing myself out with cleaning and wedding prep and worrying if I'll get enough money out of my temporary seasonal job to get us through the rest of the semester. I sat through the first song of the Dr. Horrible DVD commentary before finding it too irritating to stay in the room, and I've been freaking out and crying at nothing all afternoon. >_< I knew it was bad when skjie started frantically unwrapping the last of the Christmas dark chocolate to shove it in my face placatingly. I think when he's done watching that commentary I'm going to spend a little time playing a game where I get to blow shit up before we head off to the New Years party around the block. I have a large bottle of rum to drink and am determined to have a good time. Farewell, 2009. I won't miss you. Current Mood:  irritated |

So I helped move the office out of the building tonight
A lot of hauling stuff, and almost as much looking for stuff to haul. I scored a white board, a remote control for my work iMac, and some document racks. Plus I found out just as everyone is leaving that I get a paid holiday tomorrow, because no one wants to make the work usable tomorrow. Also, I'm telecommuting from hereon out. Although I have to go into work (aka one of the owner's houses) on Monday for 10am, and I'll have to be doing that every few weeks or so. |

We have a piano!  Our landlord got a nicer one and gifted us this one for Christmas since he originally got it for $60 and this way it wouldn't need to be moved far. XD Maybe learning to play piano will go better than learning to play guitar. We also used Christmas gift cards to get ourselves some decent speakers for the tv, since the ones we were using were a gift to skjie when he graduated high school and we actually blew them out a while ago. And since we were already at Best Buy anyway and our shifts finished before the store closed, we got good Boxing Day deals on said speakers and a bunch of movies and games. We now have Dr. Horrible on DVD, and Up, and Watchmen, and I'm looking forward to playing Dragon Age. And some gift card left over so I can get Bayonetta when it comes out. I've been using my holiday free time to get the house really clean so I won't fuss so much when things get busy again. And the guys came over last night for the last bit of our current D&D campaign, so we finished off the year with an epic battle where the 'glass canons' almost died (my Razerclaw Sorceress had one hit point for a round, and the gnome bard was briefly down to 3), but we closed a demonic rift and are Big Damn Heroes so go us! And tomorrow night we have a New Years party conveniently located a few minutes walk down the road, so skjie and I have a big bottle of Bacardi rum to help ring in the new year. It should be good times. :) Current Mood:  accomplished |

So, I'm on the train on my way to Ottawa right now. Thank gods for laptop tethering. The service for my Grandfather is today. I should be back in Montreal in more than enough time for the MonFur New Year's party, so don't worry folks. Current Mood:  morose |

I can't remember when he was born. The date that is. But he was in his 80's and I have nothing but good memories of him. He was very influential in my life growing up. He's the reason I hum random tunes all the time. He gave me my first beer, and he got ripped into for it rather soundly. He's the reason for so many things. I'll miss him. I already do. I love you Grandpa, and I'm happy that you've found peace. Ralph Frank Pilgrim passed away this morning at 7:30 AM. Current Mood: depressed |
